A HOLISTIC APPROACH
Central to my work is Shiatsu. A powerful and deep form of body work. However I also combine three other areas into my work, dialogue, movement and nutrition. By working in this holistic way I support people to find their way back to wholeness and health. I always feel deeply honoured to work with people and see them become empowered with their health and wellbeing.
DIALOGUE
I use a combination of Transformational Dialogue and Polyvagal Informed Practice to support you to find new ways to look at your body, and health. By allowing time to reflect on where you are in the moment, by bringing in the awareness of your nervous system and your felt response to your life circumstances you can begin to know yourself better which in turn brings a renewed sense of empowerment.
NUTRITION
My nutritional advice is based around a mix of Traditional Chinese Medicine and English herbs and wild crafting. By understanding the body systems through this combination of traditions allows for new ways to approach to diet, and supplements.
SHIATSU
Shiatsu is a powerful form of hands-on bodywork using acupressure points, rotations, stretches and finger pressure to bring the body back into balance. Shiatsu can relieve pain, ease even the most chronic or acute physical difficulty, support emotional and mental health and leave clients feeling held and replenished.
Our bodies are an intricate, interconnected system of muscles, fascia and cells. In good health the whole system flows. However, life is full of surprises and we cannot stop things from happening whether physical injury, stress or through emotional knocks. These moments can create imbalance in our bodies which reveals itself as physical stagnation (including pain, tightness, feeling stuck, holding or tension), or need (including feeling exhausted, lacking in energy, no motivation, foggy brain).
SHIATSU BENEFITS
The list could go on but for an idea Shiatsu is incredible for any type of muscular/skeletal issues – particularly shoulders, neck, back, knees and hips.
Chronic and acute issues within the body such as chronic fatigue, long term pain, arthritis, long covid, ME, eczema, asthma, digestive issues such as IBS.
Emotionally it can help with among other things anxiety, depression, insomnia, bipolar, panic attacks, grief.
Helps with hormonal imbalances, including menstruation, fertility, menopause.
MINDFUL MOVEMENT
People often ask “what is Qigong”? Quickly followed by “How do you pronounce it?” Firstly it is pronounced chee-gong and in its simplest form qigong means moving meditation. Although it is meditative don’t be fooled it is also a great physical workout.
It builds balance, heart rate, lung capacityand mobility. It also quietens a busy mind, bringing the nervous system back into balance and bringing your attention into the moment, allowing for a clearer, quieter mind.
GOOD TO KNOW
Qigong is suitable for all physical abilities and although traditionally done standing up can also be done sitting.
It is suitable for all all ages.
You move through forms, rather than holding a stretch and this allows for flow. which in turn achieves a greater ease in the body, enabling you to release tension through each repeated movement.
In opening through these movements the body finds an equilibrium that allows for increased physical strength alongside a calmer mind.
